Reasons for rapid weight loss in adults?
Hi just wondering if anyone has some ideas as to why an adult male who has no change in diet would suddenly go from 11 stone to 9 & a half stone, he has lost this weight in a short space of time, he recently had a skin infection which was mrsa so because of that he had lots of blood tests to rule any other illness's out he was testes for diabetes & h.i.v but was both negative so what other things could cause this weight loss, the weight loss occured after the blood tests and we're trying to get another appointment x

Type 2 Diabetes, rapid weight loss and taking Metformin?
I started developing Type 2 diabetes symptoms a few months ago. I have been warned for years that I was a border line diabetic. During a visit to my doctor, he said my blood sugar was too high. I started taking Metformin and my blood sugar went down to 115 or so. After discussing this with my doctor, I thought I was cured and quit taking the medicine. Bear in mind, I was talking with a German doctor so evidently I was incorrect in quitting the med's. Soon there after I started having frequent urinations. I went back to the doctor and found out about staying on Metformin. HOWEVER, I am taking the medicine 3 x a day. I have dropped about 25 lbs in the past 3 months. I am still losing a little bit every week. While I look healthy and trim, there has to be some leveling off I think . My blood sugar is now hovering around 280 310. And it really doesn't matter what I eat,it stays up there. I don't feel any of the symptoms of blurred vision or finger or toes issues. Any ideas?

Best food and exercise for rapid weight loss?
Could my rapid weight loss be related to anxiety and nervousness?
Hello there, about 4 months ago I looked in a Mirror and realized that I don't like the way I looked. I decided to wholly give up junk food, soda and anything I deemed unhealthy. I dropped almost 40 pounds in 4 months. Could this rapid weight loss be related to my current anxiety and uneasyness? I have been prescribed prozac and ativan for when I am panicking although I have not touched a single ativan because I don't need them. Should I let my doctor know about this?
Question concerning rapid weight loss?
I am by no means a small person, I played football wrestling and weightlifting in high school so when i graduated and quit playing those sports i expected to lose some muscle and therefore lose some weight but that also doesn't mean i just sit on the couch all day. I still am semi active just not a serious as you would be if you were training for a sport. Recently i underwent surgery for numerous cysts throughout my body before the surgery i weighed in a 286 lbs and 6'5" tall the day after day after my surgery i weighed in at 285 which i didn't think much of since i hadnt eaten alot and they removed about a pound of the cysts. The days after my surgery all i've been doing is walking around the house and up and down the stairs occasionally also my diet instead has become limited to 3 smaller meals a day but they are still around 500 600 calories each. The day after that i weighed in again, this time i was 281 lbs. the next day i was 277 and today i weighed in at 274 lbs... i'm starting to worry because i don't feel any healthier but i also don't think i've lost 12 lbs of muscle in 4 days.Does anyone have any answer to why the weight is coming off so fast? i haven't been doing anything out of the normal just relaxing and recovering and eating smaller meals. but to lose 3 4 lbs a day doing nothing is almost unheard of i do not have a fast metabolism by any means Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is starting to worry me that there might be another cause to this.I have actually been drinking alot more water...before the surgery i would only drink around a glass or two a day but during the period where i've been losing the weight im easily drinking 40 50 oz
Unintentional rapid weight loss?
Okay, so last week before my period my weight was 138 pounds, which is normal for me. Through my period it kind of dropped down to 135, but I wasn't really concerned about it. After the 4 days my period lasted, however, I continued to lose weight very rapidly, though I didn't notice until I weighed myself on Sunday, when I weighed 130. This morning I weighed myself and I am now down to 124 pounds. That's 14 pounds in about a week, and I have a feeling that's not really normal. Is there an explanation as to why I'm losing so much weight? I recently started on some antibiotics to treat a urinary tract infection, but from what I've read they shouldn't make you lose this much weight. Aside from weight loss I also have decreased appetite and constant nausea, but no diarrhea or constipation. Thanks.I definitely don't have an eating disorder I love food too much to have one, plus I could never make myself throw up to lose weight. I've been eating a little bit throughout the past week, but about two days ago the nausea sets in and now the thought of just eating makes me gag, I can barely eat without feeling like I'm gonna be sick, but of course I never am, which is a horrible feeling.
